In this episode of Balancing Life with Christ, I am joined by Derronda, Melissa, and Namir to discuss our experiences with deliverance and the lessons from the book Pigs in the Parlor. This episode highlighted our personal experience with deliverance, the importance of covering your children, and getting free to live your purpose.

RESOURCES MENTIONED:
Scripture References (ESV)
Greek Word
The word translated “possessed” by the King James version of the scriptures below is the Greek word daimonizomai. It should be translated as “demonized” or “have demons.” (Source: Pigs in the Parlor, pg 9)
Deliverance
Mark 9:17 – And someone from the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute.
Mark 1:21-26 – And they went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and was teaching. And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes. And immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him.
Mark 5:2 (I encourage you to Mark 5:1-20) – And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.
Matthew 4:24 – So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them.
Luke 4:33 – And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,..
Purpose & Obedience
1 Samuel 3 – The Lord calls Samuel
Jeremiah 1:5 – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Psalm 139:13 – 16 – For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
1 Samuel 15:22-24 (NLT) – “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”
