Are You Saved?

Do you know what that means? Saved is church words for Salvation: having believed by faith that Jesus Christ is Lord over your life.

Why is salvation important? Accepting Jesus as the Lord over your life allows your sins to be covered by his death. As a result, you no longer have to fear death because allowing Jesus to cover your sins provides you with eternal life and protection from your sins (with repentance).  Christians believe without accepting Jesus your eternal resting place will be in hell (Matthew 25:31-34; 41)

What Christians Believe

Christians believe God sent His only son, Jesus, in human flesh to die as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, was raised from the dead and seated in heaven with God, his father.

Romans Road to Salvation

Roman’s Road to Salvation is a set of scriptures written in the book of Romans used to explain why we need salvation and how to obtain it.

Problem: Sin

Romans 3:10   As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one Romans 3:23  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Penalty: Death

Romans 5:12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death

Provision: The cross of Jesus Christ

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 6:23b but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Promise: Eternal Life

Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Prayer

Now that you’ve read the scriptures explaining why we need salvation and the promise God has provided for us through Jesus, Say this simple Prayer with belief in your heart and you will be saved! (Yes it’s that easy, isn’t God great!)
Lord, I confess that I am a sinner and I need Jesus in my life. I repent of my sins and turn to you. God, I believe that Jesus is Your Son and that He died on the cross for my sins He was buried and He rose from the dead. I accept this by faith. I invite Jesus to be Lord of my life, to reign and rule in my heart. Thank you, Lord, for forgiving me and saving me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
