A Mind Full of Self Doubt
I spent so much time in my head that my dreams have dried up like the raisin in the sun. I’ve declared this year that I would get out of my own way. I would no longer let thoughts of inadequacy stop me in my tracks.
As I spoke these words to my girlfriend, I had the revelation that every time I questioned if I had the knowledge, skills, and abilities to complete a task, take on a new business venture, or to just live life; I was questioning God’s ability to show up. I was inadvertently saying, “God you messed when you made me, you didn’t do a great job because I have all these flaws.”
Breaking Free in the Promises
In that moment, deep inside I finally believed I was fearfully and wonderfully made flaws and all. And that when God created me, He knew every shortcoming I would possess. God knew every gap between my abilities and the requirements for each opportunity He would present me.
God reminded me despite those flaws and knowledge gaps, His grace and presence was sufficient for it all. He created wisdom before He created the world so all that I needed to know and needed be existed before He formed me. Therefore, I could stop hiding behind the false walls of inadequacies and insecurities because in Him there is no failure.
These very revelations are why I urge you, my readers, to read the bible daily and to seek God in prayer. His word is like a parents affirmation of your gifts and talents. God’s word washes our minds so we no longer have to believe who the world or others told us we should be. The word has the power to heal all our insecurities. So now I ask you,
what dream are you letting dry up?
