Overload and Overwhelmed

Overload and Overwhelmed

Have you have packed your schedule so tight that you’ve questioned, “why did I say yes to all this?” Unfortunately that’s my life more often that not and it leaves me feeling overloaded and overwhelmed.

My women’s class at church is completing a fast with the focus on sabbath rest. Taking the time out our busy schedules to just rest. As I mentioned in a previous post, I graduated from grad school last December. I promised myself after graduation I wouldn’t do anything the whole month of January. Surprisingly I did just that.

I’ve allowed myself to rest and rejuvenate mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. Between work and school, I was stressed out. Working long hours then studying all weekend long until the wee hours of the morning. Only to turn around and do it all over again for a year straight.

That January I enjoyed the peace and quiet of my own thoughts which has allowed me to journal, listen to God about my next steps, and pray more.

God created the sabbath not only so we can worship him but so we can relax in His perfect peace.
