Go Deeper: A Call to the Royal Generation

Go Deeper A call to the royal generation

*Disclaimer- this will snatch your edges, you’ve been warned*

This is one of the messages God gave me during my No Talk sabbatical back in September 2017. After encouragement from someone in my village I am now sharing the message. I was concerned it was too harsh, but she said, ” if God gave it to you then you need to share it.”

This is a call to go deeper.

1 Peter 2:9

Level Up in Christ

So let me start by saying the Christ walk isn’t for the faint of heart, which is why all throughout the New Testament Paul would encourage the saints and provide instruction to fight the battles that arise. But there comes a time when we have to decide to commit to Christ. This whole statement “God knows my heart” is old. And yes God knows your heart & He knows it’s not committed or even thinking about Him. Many of us desire to live this double life, love Jesus on Sunday and serve the world Monday through Saturday, ok maybe not Wednesday if you go to bible study.

God wants to level us up. Change our names but we’re too busy trying to live like our friends. God wants to empower a generation with the power to heal, deliver, and to perform miracles but we are too busy living our lives tryna stay lit and slay on folks that we’re still drinking spiritual milk. Our spirits are so filled with a clutter of worldly images that don’t please Christ. We block out time to watch Power, a drug dealer’s journey or the reality shows that promote everything opposite of the Fruits of the Spirit. God had to convict me on the last one.

We glorify wickedness, idolatry, and immorality then wonder why our hearts are confused and rebellious. We are called to live holy and righteous on to God. He said “be ye holy for I am holy.” He wants us to be set apart from the world and not be of the world. We were placed in the world to bring the kingdom on earth. But we’ve become comfortable promoting the wrong kingdom.

Our lights are dim and our souls are confused because we didn’t excel in our beauty to choose

Colorful houses: 4 ways to chose your relationship with GodThe Holy Spirit changes and transforms us but only with our permission. If you haven’t been convicted to change it’s not because you don’t need to, it’s because you refuse to allow God to expose you. How are we following Christ for 10 plus years and you’re still the same person, practicing the same sin? The Holy Spirit by the power of Jesus changes us into a new man but many of us packed the old man for the journey.

The Holy Spirit can’t pour new gifts and talents into your old man, your old body, the wine skin will bust open because the new person He wants to create is too powerful for the old shell.

What Will It Take?

So, what will it take for us to really give Christ a try? To give up the things that please our flesh in order to truly service Christ? For us to be taken off milk and get to solid food, so we can exude the true power that God has given us the authority to produce?

Jesus said He would give us the power to do healing, deliverance and more miracles. We know God is not a man that He shall lie. Just imagine what your family, community, and church would be like if we stop playing with Jesus and committed to Him and a disciplined life of biblical studies, prayer, and fasting.  I’m talking the real power to slay in the spirit. To restore families, heal marriages, cast out cancer, the true supernatural faith to move mountains and shrivel fig trees.

We can be the generation that changes lives if we stop being deceived by the world and the messages they pump to us but commit to Christ, His standards and seek him with all our hearts. This isn’t judgment but a challenge. A challenge to go deeper. It’s easy to be like the world, so come do the work and be more like Christ. He is waiting.

In conclusion, God blesses a sacrifice. God doesn’t call us to give up something and not provide a blessing in return. It may be more anointing, joy, peace, or freedom from bondage. Sacrifice isn’t always easy but it’s worth it.

Mark 16:17-18

Steps to a Deeper Relationship with Christ

How do go deeper in Christ? How do I become this Royal Generation? I’m glad you asked.

  1. Daily Reading of Bible

The Bible is our weapon. The word helps us to fight temptation, the battles of negativity in our minds, but most importantly it is our one defensive piece of armor provided to us to fight the devil. The truth of God’s word is what brings forth miracles, healing, and deliverance. While reading devotionals can be edifying reading the bible itself, full chapters, is where your power resides. (Joshua 1:8; Romans 10:17; Hebrew 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalms 119:11)

  1. Reject Sin

While none of us are perfect and will ever be perfect, God desires for us to strive for a life of righteousness. When we commit sin willingly we allow enemy to have full reign in our lives. We must live a life of repentance as there are times we sin out of pure ignorance not knowing our actions and thoughts are not pleasing to God. This is another reason why daily reading of the bible is important.
(1 Thessalonians 5:21-23; Ezekiel 45:20; 1John 1:9)

  1. Commitment to Fasting Regularly

Jesus was clear with the disciples that some situations in life cannot be moved without prayer and fasting. To fast regularly is not an easy feat, but with reliance on God it is something that can be done. To see transformation and authority we need to commit to a lifestyle of fasting. This can be 30-40 day fast, a weekly one day fast, or even a monthly 3-day fast. In all things ask God to lead you and He will establish what frequency is right for you.
(Mark 9:29; Matthew 17:14-21)

  1. Prayer

This isn’t the daily 5 minute pray, but deep prayer demonstrated by the persistent widow in Luke and the people in Acts praying for the freedom of Peter.
(Luke 18:1-8; Acts 12)

  1. Moments of Solitude

God will not fight for your ear. We need to break away from the noise and clutter of the world to hear God more clearly. We must still away and spend private one-on-one time with Christ. Jesus demonstrated the need for solitude throughout the gospels. Jesus would find time alone to seek the Father for guidance and refueling, we to need to do the same.
(Mark 1:12, 35; Matthew 14:13, 23; John 7:10; Luke 4:42; Luke 6:12-13)

  1. Faith

We must have faith that God can heal, deliver and change situations. Throughout the New Testament Jesus had to help people’s unbelief. He also was unable to perform miracles in His own home town because of their unbelief. Our faith in God’s ability to be the I AM is critical is going deeper in our relationship and becoming that royal generation. If at any point you are struggling with the ability to trust God, simply do like the centurion in Luke and as God to help your unbelief. It is through our prayer and fasting life that I faith in God continues to build.  (Matthew 17:19-20; Mark 6:5-6)
